The Monit brake bias adjuster dial allows the driver to easily adjust brake bias and view in real time the changes they make and resultant bias position. Maximising the braking performance and balance in your competition race vehicle is critical to success. Correctly adjusted brakes not only stop a vehicle faster and more predictably, but they also reduce wear on braking components and tyres, ultimately increasing confidence and enjoyment for the driver. While the fitment of a ‘remote bias adjuster’ to competition race cars is common, allowing for the adjustment of braking force between the front and rear wheels, many drivers and teams don't have the confidence or knowledge to fully utilise such products.
Now, for the first time, the Monit brake dial allows drivers to accurately adjust brake balance. These new units are easy to install, set up and use, the Monit brake bias dial clearly displays current brake balance position and enables easy and accurate adjustment without guesswork. Turn the dial to adjust your brake bias position, as per traditional remote bias adjusters, and the Monit brake bias dial will count the number of ¼ turn ‘clicks’ and display this position. Simply press and hold to ‘zero’ at your preferred setting. This can be shown relative to the FRONT or REAR bias depending on the driver’s preference. The absolute position could also be selected for alternative uses, such as suspension adjustment.
The dials have a built in LCD display showing the position setting of the vehicle’s brake bias, they can be fitted to existing balance bars and pedal boxes, including those from AP Racing, Tilton, Wilwood, Alcon, Rix, OBP and others. They are water resistant, with no wiring required, available in a through bulkhead or square plate, dashboard type mounting options. Supplied complete with mounting fasteners, a flexible shaft, with 7/16” or 3/8” UNF threaded balance bar adaptors. Remote brake bias adjusters can have up to 80 clicks of adjustment making it hard for a driver to remember where the bias has been set. With the Monit dial, the driver can see immediately see the brake position on the display and can make adjustments as desired to suit changing conditions. Powered by a single coin cell battery, with an 18 month life with the screen on constantly and is fitted with a low battery warning indicator.
